If you are a student of FSC, looking for an admission in any public medical college under University of Health Sciences or you have a domicile of Punjab, then there is a good news for you that Punjab Healthcare department has decided to increase 475 seats in Punjab Public Medical Colleges.
What actually happened?
Reportedly, as per resources from mainstream media news channels in Pakistan, Punjab Healthcare Department has forwarded a letter to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) suggesting an increase in the capacity of public MBBS seats and PMDC is expected to approve that change due to the following reasons.
Why there is need to increase the Public MBBS Seats?
Punjab Healthcare Department has noticed expansion in number of beds and patients in hospitals, a lot of patients (especially in public medical colleges) are going unattended and require medical faculty. Also they have described expansion in number of teaching staff in public medical colleges which shows an increasing demand for medical students and future medical doctors.

These 475 seats are not proposed to distribute randomly but have a proper mechanism suggested by Healthcare Department. Different medical colleges based on their demand will be allotted news seats under this new policy.
