After PMDC has delayed MDCAT 2025 from October 05, 2025 to October 26, 2025 , there could be more delay to MDCAT 2025 as suggested by the Standing Committee on National Health Services meeting held on 15 September 2025.
Importance of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHRSC):
National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHRSC) is basically a standing committee made by the government of Pakistan to monitor all medical and health related aspects in Pakistan. It is not a body who just look after medical education related matters but overall medical problems in Pakistan. This committee is being chaired by one of the Federal Minister of Pakistan. Therefore, a matter of delay of MDCAT 2025, if discussed in this meeting then that would be taken seriously by PMDC which directly operates under the guidelines of NHRSC.
Why MDCAT 2025 should be delayed?
There is an ongoing rainy season in Pakistan, and many areas have been affected by floods. As MDCAT is a nationwide test that is held on the same day across the country, it will not be possible for all students to appear on the same day and ensure good attendance at exam centers. Considering this, PMDC has already delayed MDCAT 2025 till October 26, 2025. However, this is still not being accepted by the candidates and students who will appear in MDCAT 2025. Therefore, it is the responsibility of PMDC to listen to the concerns of the students and delay MDCAT 2025 accordingly.

Proposal for delay of MDCAT 2025:
However, the discussion was held on many topics, but here we will only focus on MDCAT 2025, so here is what has happened in the meeting.
The committee suggested a proposal to delay MDCAT 2025 further more than 26 October 2025. The reason the members have mentioned is based on humanitarian grounds. They demanded that a new spell of rains in Pakistan will start from 16 September 2025.
Even due to previous spells of rains and floods have caused a lot of damage to certain areas in Pakistan so one more spell could cause more problems for students.
Minister Remarks on the proposal:
The Federal Minister for NHRS&C, Mustafa Kamal has said that the situation will be monitored carefully near the end of the month and only then the decision for further delay of MDCAT 2025 could be taken and if needed MDCAT 2025 exam date could be revised.
